AOTS training course on Implementation for Social and Industrial Infrastructure in Metrology was conducted under Training Program for Improving the Business Environment related to Trade and Investment of METI/AOTS from 3-14 December, 2018.
14 participants from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Viet Nam attended the course.
The aim of the course is to understand the followings of Japan:
- Scientific metrology including measurement standards and advanced measurement technologies;
- The social and industrial infrastructures supporting the legal metrology system;
- Metrological control by the private organizations and the manufacturers.
The course consisted of lectures, visits to the laboratory / manufacturers related to metrology and discussion with the local experts.
Mr. Horii, executive director of JMIF, delivered a presentation regarding the establishment and activities of JMIF and touched upon how JMIF is involved in the administration and development of the industry.
Participants also visited some JMIF member companies to understand not only verification and calibration of measuring instruments but also advanced technologies they possess.
The country-report presentation session was held on 14 Dec, aiming to understand metrology system of participants’ countries and participants’ action plans after the course. After the presentation session, a small party was held hosted by JMIF.
The course was successfully completed on 14 December with presentation of certificates.
