The 16th Japan- China Metrology Regulatory Meeting

The 16th Japan- China Metrology Regulatory Meeting was held for the first time in 6 years on 15 October 2024 in Tokyo.


Japan Measuring Instruments Federation (JMIF) established the regulatory meeting with the Chinese Society for Measurement (CSM) and the China Metrology Association (CMA) to promote cooperative projects such as information exchange, dispatch of experts in 1983.
Since then, we have been striving for the cooperation and enhancement of the measurement industries in both countries.


The meeting was held in the morning welcoming 7 participants from State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), National Institute of Metrology of China (NIM), CSM and CMA. The delegation from China discussed topics including the metrology systems of both countries and future collaboration with 20 JMIF members.


In the afternoon, the seminar regarding the Metrology Act in China and the latest developments of remote calibration and DX research projects conducted by NIM was held.
The seminar was a success with more than 70 participants.
The next regulatory meeting will be held in China two years later.
