The first ICW in Hamburg, Germany

The first International Conference of Weighing (ICW) was successfully held in Hamburg, Germany, with around 220 participants from 24 countries on 24-26 April, 2023.
More than 20 people attended the conference from JMIF and NMIJ.
This is the first global event for all the people involved in the weighing industry to get together, exchange information and further enhance the presence of the industry.
The theme of conference was “weighing in a global digital world,” consisting of a plenary session, parallel sessions, a gala dinner, and a visit to Airbus.
JMIF was involved in the event from the beginning as a steering committee member. As one of 17 sponsors, we also set up a booth at a table-top exhibition corner and introduced the JMIF legal metrology database.
A solid mark has been left on the industry through the efforts of all the people involved.

At the closing, it was announced that the next ICW will be held in Japan, hosted by JMIF. Mr.Yasuyuki Tanaka, an JMIF’s ICG committee chair, made a speech and accepted the weight of ICW, which will be transferred every three years to the next conference host.
